Prison Break Race

October 25th was the Prison Break race here in Kuna. My brother Damon and I ran a 5K this time and I did it pushing Levi and Marki in a jogging stroller. That was quite a work out. Oliver was with Mark at the finish line cheering us on. The race started at the prison ouside Kuna about 20 miles or so. They had an airplaine show before the race and then sounded the horn for the "great escape". It was a pretty cool race. It didn't have the scenery that Barber to Boise did and the real prisoners did watch everyone at the fence. That was pretty creepy. Congratulations Damon for coming in 3rd in your age group!

A day at the park

We went to the Kuna City park today for some time with Mark. He has been working so much over time with his training classes, trades, and extra shifts for Christmas money, that we have hardly seen him this month. I miss him. The kids miss him. So we packed the kids up and headed for some family time. We had fun playing in the leaves and playing ball. We love you Daddy and we are so proud of you!!!!!!!

Girl's Day

While waiting for the boys to wake up from their nap, Marki and I decided to have a "Girls Day". Marki painted my nails with white using the Belle nail polish. She did a beautiful job! My nails look wonderful and glittery. Marki did her nails with a light pink using Arial. We both sparkle. Thank you, Marki. You did a great job! Then Marki made pistashio pudding all by herself for dessert. What a fun morning.

Cara embarrasses her husband

Today we took a trip to Winco. While strolling about shopping for sustenance, we came about a slightly overweight lady sitting down in the cereal aisle. This lady was had her legs bent and was rubbing her stomache as if in pain. Me and my women's intuition deducted that this lady must be in pain, and not just any pain, but labor pain. After I had walked by and thrown out some encouraging words like, "You're doing a good job, keep up the good work! I was there not to long ago." My wonderful husband who was half way down the aisle came up and asked what was goin on. As we walked away I told him that I she was having labor pain. My highly trained and very skilled husband who happens to be a paramedic, thought he would go and check things out. He approached the women and said, "Excuse me are you having labor pains?", to which the lady in distress replied, "No, If I don't eat every hour my stomache hurts, and I'm a little late on eating this time." My amazingly handsome husband came back and said thanks for that one. I asked what he was talking about and he explained to me that he just accidentally made the ultimate fat girl joke... Congradulations on the baby. What baby... baby, panda. yea baby panda down at the zoo, because you don't look pregnant at all......... Thank YOU cara!

My little pumpkins

We are getting ready to carve our pumpkins. Marki and Levi took great care in choosing their very own pumpkin. Of course they did not forget Oliver. They picked him out a baby one.

Barber to Boise 10K

I ran my very first 10k on October 18, 2008-the Barber to Boise. I have been wanting to run this race ever since I moved here and finally did it! It was awesome! I had origionally planned on running one mile and walking the rest but my brother Damon was a great coach and got me to run 4 miles straight without taking a break. After a very short walk to catch my breath it was back on. When I hit mile 5 I thought that I might die so we walked a little bit more....Big mistake! My body, which was not in shape at all, pretty much quit. The funny part about it is that I hit a wall about 50 steps from the finish line. I ran my first 10k in one hour and 17 minutes. I aim to beat that next year. Damon ran with me even though he could have probably finished in 50 minutes or so but the great big brother he is,he stayed to cheer me on. We are running a 5k this weekend, the Prison Break race here in Kuna. I can't wait! Thanks for being my cheering section Damon and thanks to my hubbie who is so proud of me.

Happy Birthday Marki Lyn!

Our little princess turned 4 today! I can't believe it! It seems like just yesterday I brought her home from the hospital all bundled up and tiny. There is no denying that she is growing up into a very intellegent and beautiful girl. I can't wait to see what new things she learns in this next year. Marki attends Small Wonders Preschool, takes dance lessons from Tip Tap Toes dance, (she has the best dance teacher ever), and her dad is getting her ready to play hockey in the future. They go to the ice rink every week and skate. She is amazing! This past year she learned to spell her name out loud and write it. It may need a little work but you can definatley tell she has written her name.

To celebrate her turning 4 years we went to Linder Farms with her class and her best friend Malia. They took a hay ride. saw all sorts of animals, went through a corn maze and straw bale maze, did an art project, and went through the pumpkin patch to pick out some pumpkins. It was a fairly warm day out for October so Levi and Oliver were able to go out too. Then back for cake and ice cream. She had a great time with Malia playing in the back yard. Thank you Marki for being you, a wonderful and fun girl. I love You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harrison Classic

What a wonderful day! Today was the Harrison Classic which is one of the races we have been doing since we moved down here. Marki enjoys all of her races and this one happens to be her favorite. This was her seventh race and Levi's very first. He loved it as well. Marki showed him the ropes and when she crossed the finish line she went to cheer on her brother. I toted little Oliver around in and kept him toasty warm while waiting for my babies to finish. Mark ran with Levi while my brother Damon ran with Marki. My dad came all the way from Montana to meet the kids at the finish line which is a tradition. It was a wonderful day. I can't wait for Oliver's first race!

Levi James

Poor baby blues. Levi started having some trouble with his eyes that started last Saturday. He got conjunctavitis which he received from an allergic reaction to a dog. He is looking much better now and luckily no one else caught it. He does not like the eye drops!

Welcoming baby Oliver

I switched doctors halfway through my pregnancy in order to have the doctor I had with Levi. He decided to induce me on the 4th of September. We had to get up at 5:00am in order to get to St. Al's at 7:00am. Fifteen hours later Oliver was born. Mark was able to deliver him all on his own just as he did with Levi. I had a great labor nurse who stayed with me and helped me through my contractions. I wish she had been able to stay through the whole labor but she had to leave a few hours before he was born. Oliver was absolutley beautiful and weighed 6lb's 3oz and was 19.75 inches long. We are now the proud parents of three beautiful kids.

Waiting for baby

Mark and I found out we were expecting our third baby on January 6th, 2006. We were both super excited about the news and couldn't wait for the newest addition of our family to arrive. When we asked our daughter Marki if she wanted another brother or a sister she told us she wanted another brother because she loved Levi so much. She got her wish. We found out we were having another boy at my four month appointment. As soon as I started to show, Marki and Levi would insist on kissing my tummy all day long. When Levi wakes up in the morning we have "snuggle time". He would love to lay his head on my belly and talk to the baby. Marki, as soon as she got up for her snuggles, she would do the same.

Mark and I loved the name Oliver from the very begining. I liked the names Henry, Kellen, and Frank. Oliver has always been a favorite of mine and Mark said from the beginning the name would be Oliver and would not think of anything else. Oliver was very active and of course kept me up all night. I didn't mind though. I loved it!Our origional due date was September 15 which was switched to September 9th after our second ultrasound. Time flew by and before we knew it Oliver was here.
